What is special about Baltrum is its offshore sandbanks which, at low tide, protect the training area from the surf for around 4 hours. During this period, the training takes place in the water, which is hip-high. The “lagoon”, as we call it, provides the ideal conditions for experts of all levels.

At high tide and behind the sandbank, waves of up to 4 metres in height can form, which vary depending on the tides. You can find wonderful surf conditions right here waiting for you.

When south-east or south-west winds are blowing, kiteing can take place in the harbour as well as on the mudflats, which is also an ideal shallow water area. The wind statistics for Baltrum are also exceptional where kite surfing is concerned. Further information:
